Acrylic on canvas, 2008.

(24x28)

Another version of "the Chair" painting... now the chair has been re-upholstered and is also entertaining a rabbit-woman ;)

Wonderful refraction/reflections going on-The light is so very much alive..You are SO skilled with shadows {I forget to tell you sometimes} and always a joy to bask in the narrative/composition..Much praise is in order and you nailed it..Love it!!

Oh my :faint:! I'll be blushy all week. You think my "light is so very much alive"... I'll be basking in that forever =D Portraying vivid colors/lighting is what I strive for.

Thanks Dave, you ah mahvelous!

It's interesting in that there is a lot of tension to the composition. The figure is poised and not slumped and all the angles from the window and the open door seem to point to the figure, like she should flee. And then you notice the rabbit mask! Rabbits are so flighty.

In summary: weird little painting with some cool greens, but I like the sense of how the rabbit-woman is going to dart out the door in seconds (presumably to the garden).

You are one perceptive gal ;) As always, love your thoughtful interpretations. When I make a painting these things aren't in my mind, but I can see what you mean once it's pointed out, and they make sense with regards to myself... Part of us is always subconsciously working on the canvas, huh?
